The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League is please to announce its award winners for Week Six of GLSCL action:
Pitcher of the Week:
Nick Montgomery – Lake Erie Monarchs, RHP, San Marcos, TX (Ranger Junior College)
Nick garnered a 2-0 record this week by virtue of pitching 15 innings with no earned runs. The San Marcos, TX native 11 strikeouts this week has propelled Lake Erie on its’ five-game winning streak. Montgomery’s 5-0 season record is tied for the best this year in the GLSCL.
Co-Player of the Week:
Derek Spencer – Lake Erie Monarchs, 3B, Oregon, OH (Bowling Green State Univ.)
The Bowling Green Falcon soared to a 0.571 batting average which included one homerun, one triple, three doubles and five runs batted in. Spencer’s offensive onslaught this week brought him into the top ten in batting average in the GLSCL and the league leader in doubles.
Co-Player of the Week:
Chris Lewis – Columbus All-Americans, C/OF, Ada, MI (Western Michigan Univ.)
Chris returns as Player of the Week in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. The Western Michigan Bronco clobbered three homeruns and two doubles while batting 0.500 for the week. Lewis added six runs while slugging the ball at a 0.923 clip.

Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week: Week 5
The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League is please to announce its award winners for Week Five of GLSCL action:
Pitcher of the Week:
Tyler Wilson – Delaware Cows, RHP, Midlothian, VA (University of Virginia)
Tyler Wilson, a freshman from the University of Virginia, became the second Delaware Cow to be named pitcher of the week in the GLSCL. Tyler started two games this past week, shortened by the all-star break, earning the win in one game. The Midlothian, VA native threw a total of 12 innings in which he gave up no earned runs and struck out 14. Tyler extended his streak of scoreless innings to 18.
Player of the Week:
Ben Klafczynski – Columbus All-Americans, OF, Granger Twp., OH (Kent State Univ.)
Ben posted an impressive 0.545 batting average for the week which included two doubles and a home run. The Columbus outfielder also scored five runs with eight runs batted in. The Kent State Golden Flash finished the week with a 1.000 slugging percentage.

Pitcher of the Week:
Jake Geglein – Delaware Cows, RHP, Cincinnati, OH (University of Cincinnati)
Jake had a perfect week: two games started; two games won; two combined shutouts. The Cincinnati, OH native gave up only three hits in 10 innings of work with no earned runs. In those 10 innings, Jake struck out 11 while only issuing 2 walks.
Player of the Week:
Case Rigby – Xenia Athletes in Action, OF, Clovis, CA (Fresno Pacific University)
Case posted an impressive 0.476 batting average for the week which included a double, two triples and a home run. The Xenia outfielder also scored eight runs with nine runs batted in. The nine RBI that Case produced propelled him into the league lead (22) in that category.

Burny Mitchem – Columbus All-Americans, RHP, Farmington, MI (University of Dayton)
Burny had a no-hitter through 7.2 innings only to lose it on a double in the bottom of the eighth inning against Xenia. The Dayton Flyer righthander struck out nine in his eight innings of work. Burny maintained his league-leading ERA at 0.00 in four GLSCL appearances.
Co-Pitcher of the Week:
Collin Brennan – Licking County Settlers, RHP, Willliamsville, IL (Bradley University)
The Bradley Brave pitched a two-hit shutout against Anderson to even his record at 1-1. Collin struck out nine while only giving up only two hits in his complete-game victory. Brennan’s performance helped Licking County complete the doubleheader sweep of the Servants to move the Settlers to within two games of the 0.500 mark.

Ed Rohan – Stark County Terriers, C/DH, Ada, MI (Western Michigan Univ.)
Ed batted an astounding 0.583 this past week including a home run, two runs scored, six RBI with a slugging percentage of 0.917. The Youngstown, OH native and Winthrop Eagle is leading the GLSCL in batting average (0.468), runs batted in (17) and tied for first with three homeruns.

Pitcher and Players of the Week - Week Two
The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League is please to announce its award winners for Week Two of GLSCL action:
Pitcher of the Week:
Tony Bertucci – Columbus All-Americans, RHP, Belleville, IL (Cornell University)
Tony had a no-hitter going only to lose it on a lead-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning against Licking County. The Cornell University righthander struck out seven in his eight innings of work. Tony lowered his ERA to 0.69 in two appearances in GLSCL action.
Co-Players of the Week:
Zach Hurley – Cincinnati Steam, OF, Springboro, OH (Ohio State University)
The Ohio State Buckeye hit 0.556 this week by going 10-18 with six runs scored and four runs batted in. Zach 0.778 slugging percentage and 0.571 on base percentage helped Cincinnati maintain it’s first place presence in the Great Lakes League. Zach is tied for the lead league in home runs and is second in the league in runs scored.
