Pitcher and Players of the Week - Week 1

The Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League is please to announce its award winners for Week One of GLSCL action:

Pitcher of the Week:

Matt Carr - Anderson Servants, RHP, Indianapolis, IN (Indiana University)

Matt’s went 2-0 this week with two complete games including a shutout. In 14.0 innings of work, Matt struck out 10, walked a single batter and allowed only one earned run. The Indiana University freshman has led the Servants to their best start in recent years in the GLSCL.

Co-Players of the Week:

Brad Gschwind – Cincinnati Steam, IF, Cincinnati, OH (Miami University)

The Miami University Redhawk hit 0.500 this week by going 13-26 with eight runs scored – including four in a single game. Brad also contributed three RBI with his on-base percentage of 0.552 to lead the Steam to its 7-2 record.

Tommy Finn – Anderson Servants, IF, Valparaiso, IN (Northwestern University)

Tommy also batted 0.500 in his first week of GLSCL play which included six runs scored, three RBI and an on-base percentage of 0.571. The Valparaiso, IN native and Northwestern Wildcat is tied for the league lead in total hits and second in the league in total bases.
